SR Morris & Sons, Wernoog Flock (Flock 273)

Wernoog is situated near Hay-On-Wye, in Radnorshire and run by Stuart and Helen Morris.  They are joined by their full time shepherd, Ernie Richards who lives on the farm with his partner Anna and recently born baby son Harry.

There are 350 acres which comprise of permanent grassland and some new leys.  The yard sits at 1100ft with the land reaching 1300ft above sea level.  

They run 1,000 registered Lleyn ewes, all put back to registered Lleyn rams.  They also lamb 150 ewe lambs each year.

The aim is to retain 220-250 replacements each year with the other females selected to sell as ewe lambs or shearlings at the autumn breeding sales.  All prime lambs are sold off the farm on a deadweight basis to Farmers Fresh.
