2024 Builth Sale Report

A tremendous trade for Lleyn rams at the NSA Builth Ram Sales saw prices peak at 1800gns for a shearling ram from W Davies, Bronallt, Morfa Nefyn.

Leading the day’s sale was the second Bronallt ram in the ring, Bronallt Madog (00050/2308583). Sired by the stock ram (01097/1801835) and out of a home-bred ewe, this boy headed home with A Naylor.

The first ram in the ring from W Davies, Bronallt Melfyn (00050/2308583), soared to a high of 1100gns. Backed by home-bred genetics on both sides, with the sire being (00050/1905795), he was snapped up by fellow breeders, WJ & DJ Williams, Bodtacho Ddu, Nefyn.

Matching that 1100gns bid was Bronallt Max (00050/2308581), with the hammer falling to M Williams. Out of a home-bred ewe, he is a son of stock ram (01158/1906892).

A fourth Bronallt ram reached a four-figure sum of 1000gns, namely Bronallt Meilir (00050/2308585). A half brother to the sale leader being bred from the same sire, he was knocked down to G Rees.

The pre-sale show champion TACHO ram (00350/2308561) from WJ & DJ Williams went under the hammer at 800gns. Out of a home-bred ewe and sired by stock ram (01757/1903105), this boy found a new home with G Jerman.
